The 2nd Book in the Landmark Series…

Legacy of Iron Vol. 2

Clouds of War

by Brooks D. Kubik

Kubik 8-2Last year my good friend and world famous author of “Dinosaur Training” took a chance on doing something that no one else had done in the strength training world.

He wrote a novel.

Yeah, once again, he rocked the strength world famous for heavy black iron, sweat suits and grunting and groaning.

Initially, when the news broke that his “Legacy of Iron Vol. 1 – A Novel” was available, many trainees were put off by the word, “novel.”

Many of them said, “C’mon, Bill, I want a book with training information, real men don’t read novels!”

That’s until the spit hit the fan and the testimonials came pouring in about how much weightlifting history as well as result producing training information was contained in his book.

Even Brooks said to me, “You know, Bill, I’m going out on a limb with this type of book. This approach has been done in just about every other type of athletics, but never in the history of weightlifting.”

I told him that I thought it was a great idea and if anyone can break new ground with a book of this type, he could.

Well, as you probably know by now, the sales of “Legacy of Iron Vol. 1 – A Novel” were off the charts in no time.

So much so, that Brooks decided to write the sequel immediately rather than wait.

And here it is…

“Legacy of Iron Vol. 2 – Clouds of War”

And, man, are you gonna love the way the characters pick up the pace and start right off with 1940 Junior Nationals.

The York gang will, once again, play a prominent role in the molding of our main character, Jim Miller.

The behind the scenes stories just seem to go on and on.

But it doesn’t stop there, once again, tons of training information is included.

Take a look at some of the action contained in this book:

  • Big time lifters like Grimek, Stanko and Davis go toe to toe to see who takes the title of the strongest man!
  • Read about the most famous bodybuilder of them all, John Grimek. His win in the Senior Nationals, Mr. America contest and world record breaking Military Press!
  • Learn about the courage it takes to become a champion, the type of courage that lifters had to overcome injury.
  • Feel what it was like to live during the Great Depression and approach one of the most devastating eras as the world prepares for all out war.
  • All this with the continuing life of Jim Miller as he meets the girl of his dreams.

“The follow up companion volume that you won’t want to be without!”

What People Are Saying About the

Legacy of Iron Series by Brooks Kubik!

“Brooks – I just finished ‘Legacy of Iron Vol. 1 – A Novel’. I sat, started it, and read it in one sitting. It encompasses, summarizes, and glorifies all that was good, pure, and effective in weight training! As usual, like your newsletter and Dinosaur Training, it’s to the point and truthful yet written as an enjoyable, fast-paced novel. It’s the life in iron almost all of us from ‘that era’ lived, knew, and loved. Great job, thanks for a useful, motivational novel.”
Dr. Ken Leistner,
World Reknowned Iron Game Author
Editor and Publisher of The Steel Tip newsletter

“I finished your book ‘Legacy of Iron Vol. 2 – Clouds of War’ and enjoyed it very much. It brought back a lot of names and memories. I was an avid reader of Strength and Health from 1960 until it’s demise in 1985 and remember my first trip to York – aka “Muscle Town USA” — in 1971 to watch the Senior Nationals and Mr. America. It was a great trip to our ‘Mecca of Muscle.’ I got totally involved in strength and health and spent a lot of great times in York from 1971 until 1993. Anyway, thanks for the book, I now wait for the sequel and then the movie.”
Jim Schmitz
Coach, United States Olympic Weightlifting Team Author of Olympic Weightlifting for Beginners and Intermediates Regular author for Milo magazine

“You can’t help but walk away from Jim’s story (and we are told there will be more to come) without being inspired and proud of your involvement in the Iron Game. Go out and get a copy of ‘Legacy of Iron Vol. 2 – Clouds of War.’ You’ll be glad you did!”
